Interactive Teaching Clock

Drag the hands to set any time — the hour hand moves along, just like a real clock.

3:00three o'clock

Practice telling time

Press Show me a time and move the hands to match.

Teaching with the clock

  1. Drag the long minute hand around — the short hour hand follows, so children see both hands move together.
  2. Turn on Digital and Words to connect the face with “3:15” and “quarter past three”. Turn on Minute numbers to show 05, 10, 15… around the edge.
  3. Use Show me a time for a quiz, or Read the clock to hide the answer and ask “what time is it?”.

Frequently asked questions

What order should kids learn to tell time?

Most curricula go o'clock first, then half past, then quarter past and quarter to, then five-minute steps, and finally any minute. The quiz levels follow that order.

Why does the hour hand move when I drag the minute hand?

The hands are geared like a real clock: one full turn of the minute hand moves the hour hand forward one number.

Can I use it on an interactive whiteboard?

Yes. The hands work with mouse, touch and pen, and with arrow keys when a hand is focused.
