Heads or tails?
How to flip a coin online
- Tap the coin or press Flip (Space works too).
- The coin spins and lands on heads or tails.
- The tally counts every flip so you can play best of 3 or test probability with a class.
Coin flip probability
Each flip is independent: heads and tails are 50/50 every time, no matter what came before. Streaks still happen — in 100 flips, a run of six or more of the same side is more likely than not. Try it with your class: flip 50 times, record the tally, and see how close it gets to half and half.
Frequently asked questions
Is an online coin flip 50/50?
Yes. The result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, giving heads and tails exactly equal odds on every flip.
If I get heads five times, is tails more likely next?
No. Coins have no memory — believing otherwise is called the gambler's fallacy. The next flip is still 50/50.
